A long personal journey through the deserts where Christian asceticism was born. This personal journey, which follows the footsteps of the first anachorites at a time when the ancient world was slowly dying and Christianity was becoming established, is portrayed in this documentary. The journey takes us through the deserts of Egypt and the Middle East, following the ways of the early ascetics, the cells, the monasteries and their communal life; men purged by their love of God, seeking Him now in silence; their unreserved dedication to God and their ability to place their fate in His hands and overcome the trials of human nature.
Myrto Paraschi
She was born in Athens. She studied Archeology, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College, Massachussetts, as well as a degree from the Institute of Art and Archeology (Sorbonne, Paris).
