Taam-e-gilass TASTE OF CHERRY (Iran 1997) Abbas Kiarostami He was born in 1940, in Tehran. Between 1960 and 1968 he worked as a graphic artist, doing commercials and credit sequences for feature films. He studied fine arts at the university while earning a living as a clerk at a police station. In 1969, he and a friend founded the film department at the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. Since 1970, he has made many short films and nine feature films. taste of Cherry was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival.
