Unemployment runs rampant, affecting the morose Anton. His lover, Leni, still has a job ironing clothes. Upset over the veil of gloom with which Anton has surrounded himself, Leni attempts to lift his spirits. She believes that sensuality and love far outweigh the pursuit of material happiness. One evening, Anton and Leni are thrust apart, left to face a long night of soul-searching and torment. Their innermost thoughts and fears are amplified by the different characters they meet on their respective journeys. Although they are trying to ward off overwhelming loneliness, their encounters only intensify the turmoils within. But ultimately, they are searching for each other, and their separate paths begin to intertwine through the night. When they finally meet again, their feelings about love and each other will have been forever changed.

Biography
Born in 1964, he studied painting and music before working as an assistant director in the theater, in addition to various odd jobs. In 1989, he entered the German Film and TV Academy Berlin. During that time, he directed several films and videos, while also working as director of photography
for other filmmakers. Since 1995, he has been a guest lecturer at the CatalOnia Center of Cinematographical Studies in Barcelona.
