Nikolas plays the lyre during the fire-walking rituals in Macedonia. He is young, innocent, rough hewn and in love. Konstandina has her whole life ahead of her. There's nothing connecting her to Nikolas, in her opinion, except for the whirlwind of ecstasy. She will betray him and leave him. Nikolas will go out into the world; into the city; into the night. Far away from his roots, his ballast. There, he will meet Elena, who comes from Russia and is on her way to Toronto. Fragile, vulnerable, but also determined. She is armed with the will to survive. Nikolas and Konstandina will lose touch with each other. When they meet again, nothing will be the same...

Biography
He was born in 1962, in the northern Greek city of Serres.
He studied film in Paris and Athens. Since 1984, he has worked as a director, cinematographer and film editor.
He is a member of the European Producers' Network.
