A young Portuguese, in exile in Paris, comes back to Portugal several times between April 25th, 1974 and October 1978, but he cannot decide whether to settle down, his indecision owing to the social and political developments; the fact of having been living abroad; changes in his own family atmosphere; and, especially, his relationship with his ex-wife and young daughter. The story of his experience is revealed through a series of feminine protraits and successive images of time and place - faces, locations and instances that will be critical to his final decision. |
