Meet Orestis, a mental hospital inmate, and Pelopidas, a prison inmate, the two main characters of our story. Both are on a five-day leave from their respective institutions, when they bump into each other during a bizarre car accident in the middle of nowhere. Orestis is being followed by a psychiatrist and his female assistant, who are assessing his behaviour, while Peolpidas is being tailed by two policemen, in the hopes that he will lead them to a stash of stolen money. Both shrinks and cops think they are passing unnoticed, an illusion Orestis and Pelopidas do nothing to dispel. Even though these two very dissimilar outcasts have set different goals -the con man to retrieve the stolen money and the madman to find a friend- together with Orestes's aunt, a free-spirited Greek-American, they follow a common course, filled with outrageous and hilarious situations, in a road movie that is "way out there".
