SYNOPSIS

Set in present-day Athens, this comedy aims to depict how modern Greeks fall in love, have sex and break up, through the parallel development of eight stories. In the last half hour of the film, all the stories converge and culminate into the final scene. Through a complex puzzle of erotic behaviour, a picture of despair emerges, in relation to matters of love. Of course, love has always been an unresolved problem for people, as impossible to solve, in fact, as man's existential questions. However, this does not mean that love's dead-end does not have its own way of expressing itself in our times. Safe Sex does not aspire to solve the endless problem of love, but merely to portray the neuroses and the absurdity of a world that has transformed sex from a right into a compulsion.
