JERZY SKOLIMOWSKI
Director, President
Warsaw , 1938 . He studied ethnology and then film at the Film School in Lodz. His films in Poland are landmarks in the evolution of the new cinema of the 60s. When his film Hands up! (1967) was banned by the Authorities , he moved to London , where he lived in exile, making films that marked him as one of the most important Polish filmmakers of our time. In addition to directing , he has also appeared in films as an actor.

JORGE SANCHEZ (Mexico)
Producer
Mexico. Founder and Director of Macondo Cine - Video , Latina S.A., Zafra Video and Filmania. His latest productions include: Such is Life , No One Writes to the Colonel, The Ruin of Men , et al. He is also President of FIPCA ( Iberoamerican Federation of Cinematographic and Audiovisual Producers ),
And a member of the Board of the Foundation for the New Latin American Cinema, presided by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

TUNCEL KURTIZ
Actor
Izmit, 1936. He studied law, English literature and philosophy, and went on to work as a stage actor in many theatres in Turkey and Europe. He played the lead role in several films by Ylimaz Guney and in 1986, he received the best actor award at the Berlin Film Festival , for his part in the Israeli film The Smile of the Lamb. He works as an actor in both the cinema and the theatre , where he has received numerous awards. |

FRED KELEMEN
Director
West Berlin, 1964. He studied painting and music and worked as an assistant director in the theatre. In 1989, he entered the German Film and TV Academy in Berlin. He is a guest lecturer at the Catalonia Center of Cinematographical Studies in Barcelona and at the School of Visual Arts in Geneva.
His filmography includes : Fate (1994), Frost (1997-98), and Abendland (1999) , which won the FIPRESCI prize at the 1999 Thessaloniki Film Festival.

JUDIT ELEK
Director
Budapest, 1937. She studied at the Academy of Theatre and Film in Budapest, and went on to work as an assistant director at Matfilm. A founding member of the Bela Balasz Studio, she is also a screenwriter and author. She has made feature and documentary films, among which: The lady of Constantinople (1969) , A Commonplace Story (1975), Maybe Tomorrow (1979), Maria's Day (1983), Memories of a River (1989), Awakening (1994).

ALBERTO BARBERA
Film Critic
Biella Italia, 1950. He studied film history and criticisnm at the University of Torino. He contributed, as a film critic, to newspapers and magazines, and worked for television and radio. In 1982, he joined the Torino Film Festival and was its director from 1989 to 1998. Since 1999, he has been the Director of the Venice Film Festival. He has published several books on film.

ÖÙTOÓ ËAMÐPINOÓ
Director
Greece. He studied film at Moscow' s VGIK. He has worked as a director in the theatre , radio and film, and has directed dozens of documentaries for Greek television. In 1973 . he collaborated with Theo Angelopoulos on the screenplay for the Travelling Players. He has taught at Athens University, and is currently teaching at the University of Thessaly.
