A contemporary story of a group of kids who get caught in a tragic lie. Set in the dilapidated landscape of a small rural town, during the celebration of the anniversary of the American Independence, the kids struggle to balance their relationships, ambitions, and guilt. As their guilt intensifies, our narrator, an eleven year-old coloured girl, detaches herself from the group and watches as each child searches for redemption.
