Just before Easter Sunday, Jan Nowicki, a young medical student leaves
the student home, and begins an almost dreamlike peregrination through
the city of Warsaw. Carrying all his belongings in a suitcase, he visits
his father, who lives in a home for retirees. The old man gives him a receipt from a pawn shop and an address. When Jan arrives there, he meets
a woman who gives him a saber. With his suitcase and saber in hand,
Jan resumes his wanderings, and meets a beautiful young woman who drives a tram...
The film received the Grand Prix at the 1966 Bergamo Film Festival.
