"In 1981, the opportunity arose once more for the film to be screened in the theatres (and, until December, conditions had been favourable). So they suggested I make some changes, as it had been 14 years since it had been made, and perhaps the film had aged somewhat. I watched it again, and I decided to add the prologue... However, my message was not very popular. It was received with hostility by both opposing sides. If it had had the declared support of "Solidarity" it could have been screened in the theatres. But it didn't, and so, once again, it was dealt with as the words of an outsider. It was shown without fanfare at the Gdansk Film Festival. It only won the journalists' award..."
