Five doctors get together on the anniversary of their graduation.
Four of them are successful, whereas the fifth, Andrzej Leszczyc,
works as a vet and has been ostracised for once putting up a poster that ridiculed Stalin. Andrzej suggests they all go and visit a fellow student
of theirs from university...
The film was selected by the 1967 Venice Film Festival, but was blocked
by the Polish Authorities and banned for 14 years. In 1981, when
the ban was lifted, Skolimowski presented a new version, adding a prologue and an epilogue. Skolimowski himself considers it his best film.
