Statement of the Jury.
The Jury of the 43rd International Thessaloniki Film Festival would like to point out that this year's selection of films of the International Competition Section was rich, strong and full of diversities.
As far as the subjects are concerned we realised that many of these first or second films are dealing with the themes of escaping, double identity and loneliness.
As for the cinematic approach or film language, two currents were detected: passionate and constructive connection with narrative cinema and important devotion to innovative visual form.
We would like to congratulate all the filmmakers and thank them for entrusting their work to our judgement.
