An opera singer who has lost her voice comes back to her parentsÕ house in a small village. She is not supposed to sing for a whole year. If she sings, her voice will be gone forever. There is a sick child in the family, and the singer tries to raise money for her treatment: she sells all her stage costumes, she sells her blood, but it is not enough. One day, the child gets worse and asks to hear an aria from an opera. The singer cannot refuse this request. She sings beautifully, better than ever before. It is as if she is singing for the first and last time in her life...
