Director Abbas
Kiarostami from Iran is the man who made Iranian cinema known throughout the
world and whose name identifies best with the Thessaloniki Film Festival's
international course. The director of Tastes of Cherry, which won
him the Gold Phoenix at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival, will be represented
in Thessaloniki with a complete retrospective of his work. This includes
33 films beginning in 1970, with his first short films, his unknown
television work and documentaries and concludes with his latest film,
Five. The retrospective will be accompanied by a publication of a
monograph and two photography exhibitions by the renowned director. |
