Kiyoshi
Kurosawa, on the other hand, has filmed 23 films since 1983, earning
him the title
of "Black Prince of Japanese new wave", because of his
role in the revival of Japanese thrillers. Kurosawa worked for
years in the skirting of Japan's commercial cinema, between b-movies
and
artistic creation until finally receiving international acclaim
at many festivals such as Locarno and Cannes. His metaphysical
thrillers
created a new wave in Japan with films such as, Ring bearing strong
influences from Kurosawa. Kiyoshi Kurosawa, who is unknown in Greece,
will present an anthology of six of his best films screened for
the first in Greece.
