Biosphere,
the recording name of Geir Jenssen, is a Norwegian
musician who has released a large catalogue of ambient electronic
music. Originating
from Tromso in the north of Norway, Biosphere is famous for its
ambient arctic-influenced sound, but most people will have encountered
his music via a Levi's advertisement that used a track from his
second album as a soundtrack.
Jenssen used to be a part of the trio Bel Canto, but left to
make music on his own. He has also released music under the names
Bleep and Cosmic Explorer. Jenssen is a keen mountain climber
and photographer.
