Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1964, he directed several short films and won numerous awards at home and abroad. He also directed music videos. His first feature film, Belly Up, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, was screened as part of the “New Directors, New Films” exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, attracted critical acclaim and won the Best Film Award at the Festival de Gramado.

Sao Paulo. College mates Estevao, Ivan and Gilberto have also been partners in a construction company for over 15 years. Everything is just fine until a dissension causes a conflict among them. Estevao, the major partner, threatens to break up the partnership; Ivan and Gilberto decide to eliminate him by hiring Anisio, a professional killer. Anisio, slowly but steadily, invades their lives and confronts both of them with the
process of violence unleashed by themselves...
