Ning Hao was born in the city of Taiyuan in Shanxi province in northern China in 1977. He graduated from the Photography Department of the Beijing Film Academy in 2003, having completed his award-winning student film Thursday,Wednesday (2001). He is currently developing a new feature for Warner China Film HG, distributor of the box office sensation Crazy Stone.

Xie faces closure of his factory when he discovers a precious jade gem worth over $1m. At that very moment, his son Charles drops a soda can, crashing through the window of the factory van Bao is driving, causing it to crash into Xie˘s loanshark. Xie hires former police detective Bao as a security guard for the gem, building an exhibition around it at Lohan Temple so as to raise its value. Determined to secure Xie˘s factory for its real estate value, the loanshark hires a professional in Hong Kong to steal the jade. But the thief˘s briefcase with the plans is stolen at the airport by three unsuccessful con artists...
