Organised by the European Documentary Network (EDN) in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival - Images of the 21st Century and supported by MEDIA Promotion and Eureka Audiovisual.

Approximately 25 producers and directors from Greece, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, UK, France, the Netherlands and the Balkan countries of Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Slovenia and Croatia will be participating in a five-day intensive workshop of training an information.

The main objective is to prepare for pitching to a panel of European commissioning editors from a handful of countries. On the morning of Saturday and Sunday (9-10 March), the projects will be pitched in public to the panellists, with individual meetings to follow in the afternoon. Some of the commissioning editors participating are: Christiane Philippe (RTBF, Belgium), Franz Grabner (ORF, Austria), Mark Atkin (SBS, UK/Australia), Bert Janssens (Humanistische Oproep, The Netherlands), Leena Pasanen (YLE Tema, Finland), Heino Deckert (D-net Sales, Germany), Luca Macciocca (RAI, Italy), Helen Vlachos (NET, Greece) and Despina Mouzaki (Greek Film Centre).

"Docs in Thessaloniki - Pitching Forum 2002" gives the independent producer a unique opportunity to present a project internationally, to meet with colleagues and create alliances for future collaboration in Europe.
