"The Pinochet Case" by Patricio Guzman looks at the dramatic events from the dictator's 1998 seizure in the UK through his current house arrest. Criminal histories are also referred to in "LaLee's Kin: The Legacy of Cotton". For the film, co-directors Susan Froemke, Deborah Dickson, and Albert Maysles earned the trust of 62- year-old LaLee and her family, in a cotton town in the Southern US. Can cotton's cycle of poverty be snapped? This question is explored through unobtrusive, personal filming.
