For the first time this year the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival has a Competition section for Greek documentaries with a running time of over 24', in any production format (film, video, DVD). As a result, three Awards will be granted, which are accompanied by cash prizes, and up to two honorary distinctions.

For this reason a five member jury has been appointed, which is comprised of:

 Lakis Papastathis, Director
 Penny Panayotopoulou, Director
 Stelios Kouloglou, Journalist
 Miltos Papanikolaou, University Professor
 Nikos Giannopoulos, Director of Photography

As well, the international jury which will grant the Fipresci Award (International Film Critics Association) to both a Greek and a foreign film is comprised of:

 Stratos Kersanidis, Greece
 Anette Olsen, Denmark
 Necati Sonmez, Tyrkey
