This year,
and for the second year in a row, the Thessaloniki Documentary
Festival
includes a competition section for Greek documentaries filmed
in all formats (film, video, DVD). The five-member Jury will
present four Awards accompanied by prizes, as well as four
honorary distinctions.
The feature documentaries (longer than 60') whose producers
desire to participate with in the National Awards at the end
of the year will be screened in the Competition Section but
out of competition.
Particularly, the Awards that will be presented to the films
of the Competition Section are the following:
Á. For documentaries of length 45' or greater
* 1st Prize (12.000)
* 2nd Prize (7.000)
Â. For documentaries less than 45' long
* 1st Prize (5.000)
* 2nd Prize (3.000)
C. 2-4 honorary distinctions
*For exemplary achievements in special sections accompanied
by a prize of 2.000 each.
Besides the aforementioned, the Festival also incorporates
the following awards:
* Audience Award - ÅRÔ 3 to a Greek or foreign film
(3.000). The documentary that wins this award will also be screened
as the closing film of the Festival.
* Fipresci Award (International Federation of Film
Critics) to a Greek or foreign film |
