The familiar story of Adam and Eve without much talking! Focusing
on the mystery of the female nature and the loss of innocence
but also on the gain of sexuality. Britt Randle was crazy about
painting as well as the cinema since he was a boy. Eve is one
of the strangest and most beautiful films in the program. The
film is imbued with the atmosphere and the expressivity of a
silent movie. The constant visual references to well known German
Expressionist films such as Metropolis (in the figure of Eve
at the film's start), Nosferatu (in the nightmarish and clumsy
fingers), Dr. Frankenstein (in Adam's figure), and Dr. Kaligari
(in costumes) - to cite but a few of the most prominent examples.
Yet all these references are so well assimilated that the world
of the film is a self-contained and complete universe. Filmically
sweeping and innovative, Randle's vision is fascinated by women.
He said that he was always enchanted by the movement in silent
movies. The use of new media and special effects contribute
to a unique result.
