This applies to the performance Bernardetje by the group Les Ballets C de la B, which he jointly signs with Arne Sierens, who has written the texts. In this "popular comedy," as he calls it, tenderness meets everyday life in a well-rounded depiction of the concept of youth. Nomad parents and children seem to inhabit the bumper car track in an amusement park. The younger members of this miniature society are full of lust for life, excessive energy and the wildness of adolescence. Focusing on the actors, Giovanni Cioni's gaze transforms both rehearsals and the actual performance into true fiction.
