French choreographer Emmanuelle Huynh,
of Vietnamese origin, has worked as a dancer with Herve Robbe,
Nathalie Collantes and Odile Duboc. Posing the deeper human
questions - where we come from and where we are going - Mua
is a choreography that was created after her first visit to
Vietnam. It is a solo in which the body emerges out of the darkness.
Spectators are asked to abandon their visual convictions and
surrender themselves to the possibilities offered by sensations.
Sound and silence, darkness and light alternate, and spectators
are invited to share the choreographer's experience as their
eyes are searching on the screen for the figure to emerge out
of the darkness. Rachid Ouramdane, one of the film directors,
is also a choreographer.
