The Love Trilogy is a story about a couple in love. Chapter
One, Blue Love, is a humorous exploration of the power struggle
that exists within relationships but also within ourselves.
Chapter Two, Wet Love, is an observation of love, competition,
and addiction. The final chapter, Boot Love, tells of a couple
that more than just dancing a twisted tango, are grappling for
perfection time and time again.
Satirizing and undermining them, the two creators of the trilogy
adopt the style of capricious lovers in a film noir for Blue
Love, along with a crossbreed of television soap opera and art
film. Wet Love evokes the aesthetics of televised sports events,
and Boot Love the slow motion aesthetics of certain dance films.
Shaun Parker and Jo Stone live and dance in Australia and Europe.
Shaun Parker has worked with Meryl Tankard, Sasha Waltz, Kate
Champion, Meredith Monk (as a singer) and Jan Fabre (in the
role of Prometheus Bound in the performance-workshop given in
Vienna). Jo Stone has danced with the Belgian dance group Les
Ballets C de la B, with Vera Mantero in Lisbon, in Constanza
Marca's performances in the Schaubuhne in Berlin, in New York,
and in Adelaide, in Peter Greenaway's Writing to Vermeer, and
the performances she has choreographed have been shown in festivals
throughout the world.
