director, photography, editing: allsopp&weir. production:allsopp&weir. UK
An originally improvised performance, intruding on the sharp lines of Richard Roger's Lloyds building in London's deserted financial district, is forced into structure, or structured improvisation is abandoned to technology. The sound of the piece is produced by isolating micro beats and breaks from single frames in the original soundtrack, and rebuilding them into stuttering and fragmented rhythms of heeltap and gasp, which slip away from, support and overwhelm the image. Movement is produced through a series of violent cuts, the body montaged into its own double, an exhaustive athleticism.
