The film is inspired from a dance performance related to the text of
Jean Starobinski's "Portrait de l'artiste en saltimbanque." An
acute analysis on the figure of the artist that dresses up as a jester
to "overcome" the phantoms that haunt him and his time.
A white buffoon is dancing for us making fun on the sad condition of
human being.
Ariella Vidach (choreographer) and Claudio Prati (video artist) are
two of the founding partners of the Swiss cultural association Avventure
in Elicottero Prodotti, created in Lugano in 1988, and of the Italian
dance company, Ariella Vidach - AIEP, active in Milan since 1996.

What can be found and created by looking at the intersection between
language, code and frequency in relation to human movement? Having
chosen that the primary vehicle for this exploration will be the
moving image - my aim has been to make the Figure(s) of Speech
project build
separate entities; kinetic, graphic/visual, chromatic - and that
these sections could function as one connected coherent volume.
