The Apollo of Gaza

L' Apollon de Gaza

21st TDF: Greek Premiere

When, during the summer of 2013, a statue of Apollo – dating back 2,500 years – was found at sea by a fisherman in Gaza, no one could foresee the events that would follow. Shortly after this astonishing archaeological discovery, the statue of the god of Arts and Oracles vanished mysteriously, encouraging all sorts of speculations. Since then, its fate remains unknown. Hidden in secret tunnels, destroyed by armed fundamentalists or resold to international antiquities smugglers, one thing is sure: Apollo looks upon the weakness of Man in all his majesty.
