Hippopoetess

Hippopoetess

59th TIFF: Greek Premiere

Plump, stubborn, masculine, unconventional, offbeat, ambitious, unstoppable: the hippopotamus poetess is one of us! A story of female creativity, strength, and resilience based on the life and work of Amy Lowell – an American poet of the Imagist movement who craved to succeed in a world dominated by men – and armed with the weapon of the dreamlike surrealism of experimental animation.
