“We were abducted, my mother, father, sister and me.T hen they killed my parents and separated me from my sister. I was five,” Abouk and Machiek were taken by government-sponsored militia in Sudan and used as slaves – like thousands of other children their age. They narrate their story as animated figures that gain back their human shape as they fight with their traumas.
