Lamb of God

In 2002, in the middle of Argentina’s economic breakdown, Arturo, a 77-year-old veterinary surgeon, is kidnapped in Buenos Aires. His 30-year-old granddaughter Guillermina has to negotiate the ransom with the kidnappers. To that end, she asks her mother, who still lives in France, for help. Guillermina and Teresa carry out the negotiation to free Arturo. As a result, they both relive painful moments from the past, when Para police forces kidnapped Teresa and Paco, and Arturo remained in charge of his granddaughter. Little by little, Guillermina discovers the intervention of her grandfather in the release of her mother in 1978, but also his probable responsibility in her father’s disappearance and death.

Lucia Cedron

She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1974. She studied Literature, History and Film Studies at the Sorbonne. Following graduation, she produced documentaries for French television but decided to return to Buenos Aires in 2002, where she made her first short film, "En ausencia", which won the Silver Bear at the Berlin IFF 2003. "Lamb of God", which was the opening film at the Rotterdam IFF 2008, clearly draws heavily on her own family’s experiences.
