At the heart of one of the toughest, most chaotic cities in the world, four brothers try to reinvent themselves in different ways. Walter Salles

He was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1954. His first feature film, "Foreign Land", holds a crucial place in the renaissance of Brazilian cinema, winning seven international awards and screening at over thirty film festivals, including the Thessaloniki International Film Festival 2006. He won worldwide acclaim with Central Station. His film "The Motorcycle Diaries" won numerous awards in film festivals worldwide, as well as an Oscar.

Daniela Thomas

Dramatist, art director and costume designer. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1959, she studied Film in London and has been a resident artist with the experimental theatre La Mama in New York.
