The artists who will represent Greece at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia talk about their interdisciplinary installation Xirómero / Dryland in the form of a presentation that brings together audiovisual material and other objects out of the world of the panighíri (the Greek traditional country fair) to the 26th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. Τhe work in Venice will be inviting the viewer into a spatial immersive experience: a fully-operational, heavy-duty irrigation machine sits at the heart of an expansive, hybrid installation forged out of music, video, soundscapes, lighting, and the manifest element of water. Xirómero / Dryland is a collective, interdisciplinary work conceived by Thanasis Deligiannis and Yannis Michalopoulos, created along with the artists Elia Kalogianni, Yorgos Kyvernitis, Kostas Chaikalis, and Fotis Sagonas.
