On the highest top of the capital of Abkhazia lies a medical institution of research on monkeys for a whole century. Legend has it that the Soviets who founded it aspired to find a hybrid between man and ape. Today, in the heart of an unrecognized republic and the ruins of an ill-fated utopia, men and monkeys are caged in a territory ravaged by war, both victims of a failed series of experiments.
