The Savages

Wendy Savage is an aspiring playwright languishing in temp jobs in New York City, perpetually dissatisfied by an affair with a married neighbour. Wendy’s brother, Jon, a theater-arts professor living in Buffalo, is working on a book on Brecht. Neither sibling is fulfilled by their pursuits, and things quickly take a turn for the worse when they are called upon to arrange care for their ailing father, Lenny. Now, as they put their already arrested lives on hold,Wendy and Jon are forced to live together under one roof for the first time since childhood, having to get over long-standing tensions – with each other, with Lenny and with the world at large – in order to find their dad a suitable place to live out his days.
