Albert Serra

He was born in Banyoles in 1975 and graduated in hispanic literature and comparative literature at the University of Barcelona where he also studied art history. In 2000 he collaborated with various conceptual and performance artists and exhibited part of his work at the Mir½ Foundation of Barcelona.That same year he worked for the film magazine Scope, writing a monthly review on independent directors. In 2002 he wrote, directed and produced the 84-minute cult movie Crespia, the Film not the Village. In 2003 he wrote and produced the work Setsuko, and received a grant from the Generalitat de Catalunya (2004). Finally, in 2004, he wrote, directed and produced Honor de cavallerίa, a free adaptation of Don Quixote.
