Lola

Leon is a lonely man who has no occupation and no contact with anybody. All he does is look after his sick mother until she dies.To break his solitude, Leon likes to steal his neighbors’ mail and follow the comings and goings of travelers at a small train station... One day, Dolores, a noisy Spanish woman, moves to his neighbourhood and totally captures Leon’s attention. He learns about Dolores’ encounters, eavesdrops on the ups and downs of her luck, and takes part in her life without her knowing it.Year after year, Leon writes down in a notebook all the tiny details of her daily life. Only eventually will Dolores discover that there is someone who has become her shadow.

Javier Rebollo

Javier Rebollo (Madrid, 1969) is one of the short film directors with the greatest experience and influence on the scene of recent Spanish cinema. Between 1997 and 2002 he produced numerous shorts. All these shorts were launched during the Valladolid International Cinema Week and gave him two nominations for the Goya Awards. He was also nominated for the European Awards for the Best European Short Film; he has won over a hundred other prizes and has participated in the world’s most important short film festivals: Clermont-Ferrand, Krakow, Montreal, Locarno and Alcal΅ de Henares, Bilbao, the Seminci and Cinema Jove in Spain.
