Parvas

Parvas is the story of a family. It depicts a series of ordinary events, of chance happenings in a family that resides in Chora of Amorgos. Dimitri Yannakos, also known as Parvas, spends the last winter of his life in Chora, a village on the island of Amorgos. He divides his time between his garden and the coffee shop he runs with his wife and daughter. Gerasimos Rigas

He is an Athens, Greece based documentary filmmaker. Parvas is his second feature documentary film. Habits was his first. He studied Documentary Filmmaking at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to his studies in Berkeley he obtained a Master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics. His UC Berkeley thesis film, A Voyage in Cyprus, screened at several film festivals around the world.
