My Father Is My Mother’s Brother

Tato – Mamyn Brat

21st TDF: Greek Premiere

Tolik, an artist in the Ukrainian underground scene, is raising his sister’s daughter who has taken to calling him Dad, since her mother suffers from mental health problems. A documentary that takes from a restless artist’s portrait as much as from the portrait of a peculiar family of three, which surprisingly isn’t lacking harmony. A touching coming-of-age story that captures the fragile beauty hidden in silence, a blank gaze, a subtle gesture.
