Under the name of Lukac

Lukac was the nom de guerre of the Hungarian writer Mate Zalka, who fought in Spain in 1936. A political exile in the Soviet Union, he was one of the first volunteers to go to Spain, where he became commander of the 12th International Brigade. The film recounts the final months of General Lukac’s life in Spain. Made in the belief that the Spanish Civil War will go down in history as a glorious example of international solidarity and support, the film is a tribute to all those who came to Spain from the four corners of the earth and died there for their ideas.
