The Bride

Awaiting of the celebration, the happy omens, love. In a rural village in the South of Italy, in the enduring lulls, the recurring rhythms and recollections from the past – memories, echoes, oppressive heritage weaved in the present moment – simple offerings are prepared, humble banquets consumed in anticipation of being whole. Independent and self-produced, the film, shot in 16mm, observes real life and the everyday places of its protagonists, returning a transfigured and symbolic portrait.
