This is the story of a lonely man named John. He lives his life alone trying to connect with anything/anyone he can. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between hysterical laughter and hysterical crying.

Benny Safdie

He was born in New York City and raised in Queens. His father filmed him and his brother Josh by Video8 all the time. He now pursues film collectively with Red Bucket Films in a storage closet in Chinatown. The Acquaintances of a Lonely John screened at the “Directors’Fortnight”, Cannes IFF 2008.
