Autumn, 1990. A group of Western diplomats arrive in Albania in order to investigate human rights abuses by the communist regime still in power. Leo, a political prisoner who is being kept for 16 years, is secretly taken out of a prison in a remote mountainous area, in order to meet the head of the European delegation, whom he knows from his university years during the 1960s. Leo is expected to confirm that there is no violation of human rights in the country. But, as soon as he realizes the agenda of the guards who escort him in this peculiar trip, he decides not to play their game. Nothing goes according to plan...

Bujar Alimani

Bujar Alimani was born in 1969 in Patos, Albania. He studied painting and stage directing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana. In 1992 he immigrated to Greece, where he worked as an assistant director on several Greek films. In 2011 he directed his first feature film Amnesty. It was the first Albanian film that was funded by the Council of Europe fund, Eurimages. The film is the first official participation of Albania in Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the CICAE Prize. His second film, Chromium, a co-production between Albanian, Kosovo, Germany and Greece, was screened in many festivals around the world. He lives and works in New York USA.
