Brownian Movement

Brownian Movement

In the language of Physics, the Brownian Movement refers to the random motion of solid particles in a fluid mass. In the well-tuned life of Charlotte, a successful doctor living in Belgium with her seemingly perfect family, the same random movement leads her to the arms of different men – either her patients or other satellites, who usually remain unwanted due to their unusual appearance – where she steams off her deep existential anxiety. A meticulous character study that proves Leopold’s talent in open, unprecedented cinematic forms and elicits an extraordinary, subtle performance from Sandra Hüller (the protagonist of Toni Erdmann).
