It is Christmas and Milan returns to his family in Slovakia from his construction job in Germany. Nevertheless, instead of holiday euphoria, it is all gloomy and mournful in Milan’s village. A young boy, who had enrolled in the same paramilitary nationalistic organization as Milan’s son, has committed suicide. Convinced that his son knows more than he lets on, Milan soon realizes that a cover-up mechanism has been put into action by the local authorities and the village folks. A tale of perpetuated hatred, passed on from generation to generation, and a painful reminder that fascism can only triumph through our indifference.
