The Strange Ones

A slow-paced thriller featuring a boy who roams across the desolate and remote American landscape, in the company of his brother (whom we see as his protector). The small skinny boy appears to be a gentle, fragile and caring soul, while his brother is the polar opposite: robust and rough around the edges. The untold and brutal truth gradually emerges, as the two siblings’ roles in a horrific chain of events are revealed to us. An elegiac drama, in which the more we discover the more entangled we become.

Christopher Radcliff and Lauren Wolkstein are NYC-based filmmakers best known for their award-winning short films, including The Strange Ones, Jonathan’s Chest, Social Butterfly, and Cigarette Candy, which have screened at hundreds of film festivals worldwide including Sundance, SXSW, Rotterdam, Clermont-Ferrand, AFI Fest, and more. Their first feature film, The Strange Ones (an adaptation of their short film of the same name), premiered at SXSW 2017.
