Young Juliette

Jeune Juliette

60th TIFF: Greek Premiere

Fourteen-year-old Juliette lives with her single father and older brother in a Quebec suburb. She is a bright, vivacious and rebellious girl despite suffering occasional mockery by her classmates for being overweight. Juliette is determined to spread her wings and fly away from her dull and tedious entourage, but cannot refrain from indulging in far-fetched dreams, totally out of her league. We follow her as she embarks on a coming-of-age journey, set in the hectic last few weeks before summer vacation. A cynicism-free yet utterly endearing tale of teenage malaise.
