Summer, early 2000s. A young boy arrives at his grandparents’ house in a small seaside village. Summertime is finally on! Keeping him company during his carefree summer days, is the mysterious “witch”, a self-isolated elderly woman living in an old house by the sea. When one day the woman is no longer there, the boy will turn his gaze, for the first time, to the light of the setting sun.

Asteris Tziolas
Asteris Tziolas was born in 1994 in Athens and grew up in Volos, Greece. After a brief stint in science, he withdrew from his medical studies to concentrate on cinema and directing. In 2020 he graduated from the Hellenic Cinema and Television School Stavrakos. His thesis project, When Night Lost, premiered at the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival. A year later, it was selected for the 16th Talents Sarajevo. The First Setting Sun of Summer was awarded at the 46th Drama International Short Film Festival with the Special Jury Award and the Greek Society of Cinematographers Award.
